Gruezefeld conduct and rules
The official rules are very detailed. A short overview of the most important rules, customized for the Gruezefeld course, can be found here and on the large information sign near hole 1.
- Lie:
The player takes all throws (after the initial throw from the tee) from where their disc landed. A player must stand directly behind their disc or behind a mini marker.
- Tee throw
Every player in the group takes turns throwing a disc from the tee.
- Number of throws
Add the number of throws plus and penalties to get your total for a hole.
- Ending a hole
A hole is finished when every player in the group has successfully thrown a disc into the basket.
- OB (Out of Bounds):
All throws that come to rest in the water or out of the defined playing area (OB / out-of-bounds) get a 1 throw penalty added to them. The next shot will be played from the spot where the throw left the defined playing area.
- Mandatories (Mandos)
To ensure safety at hole 1 there is a mando. Players must pass this Mando on the right hand side.
- Safety
Each player must ensure that the hole is free from other players and people before they throw! If necessary, send a spotter ahead to make sure the hole is free and to help locate discs. After the initial throws from the tee, the player who is furthest from the basket or Mando then makes the next throw while the other players wait behind them.
- Obstacles and objects
Obstacles such as trees, bushes, and benches are integral parts of the course and must not be changed in any way!
Official rules
The official rules (in various languages) can be read at www.pdga.com or www.discgolf.ch. Licensed players will get a hard copy of these rules in their initial membership package.
